Unexpected Regions (MINRNW and IMPEXP) and Missing Attributes after Synchronization
#1
Hi,

I am relatively new to TIMES, so I apologize if this concerns a straightforward issue. However, I have encountered the following problem while working on my model.

After synchronization, the Browse tab displays MINRNW and IMPEXP in addition to REG1 (which is the only region I specified in the SysSettings tab). Meanwhile, the Attributes tab only shows COM_PROJ and G_DYEAR.

I have reviewed the BaseYear, SubRes, and SysSettings tabs to the best of my understanding, but I am still uncertain about the source of the issue. Previously, before I added several process technologies in an earlier version, the model functioned correctly. I have since deleted those process technologies - but the issue still persists.

Please find the screenshot and my project folder attached for reference.
Thank you.

Looks like your questions are related to VEDA and not TIMES as such.
Nonetheless, I had a quick look, and I confirm the strangeness of the situation:
  • In Browse, the Region panel shows REG1, MINRNW and IMPEXP, although the latter 2 are external regions usually not shown
  • No process data can be found, only COM_PROJ and G_DYEAR

I can suggest trying to fix the issue by the following workaround action:
 Excel file: SysSettings.xlsx
 Worksheet:  Region-Time Slices
 VEDA Tag: ~BookRegions_Map
 Column: BookName
 Action:  REG → REG1

I suggest this action because the Name of the Book is VT_REG1_IND_V01.xlsx, and you are referring to REG1 inside that book as well. But possibly changing the filename of the Book to VT_REG_IND_V01.xlsx might work as well.

I apologize for posting this in the wrong thread, thanks for pointing that out.

I followed your suggested workaround by modifying the relevant entry in SysSettings.xlsx, and the issue was perfectly resolved after selecting “Start from scratch.” Previously, I had changed the filename to REG; however, I may or may not have selected “Start from scratch” at that time. I recall that the change did not take effect as expected.

Thank you again for taking the time to review my files and for providing a very clear and effective solution!
